Cask – Artisanal Beverage Purveyors in downtown SF. Incredible selection. Bought a couple of bottles of Poli grappe there. The cargo bike out front was just a bonus.
Blue Bottle Coffee on Mint Plaza, SoMa. Excellent selection of coffees. They know how to do city roast.
Blue Bottle Coffee’s five halogen light siphon bar. Brews outstanding cups of coffee due to very rapid heating.
Del Popolo Pizza Truck – mobile pizzeria on Mint Plaza that day. Tasty rustic Neapolitan-style pizza.
I had the Margherita.
Project Bandaloop – lunch and a show. Choreography meets the art of climbing. Chanced on this vertical dance show while I had my Del Popolo pizza.
Project Bandaloop – vertical dance to classical music.

Grappa Bar 888 at the InterContinental San Francisco. Amazing collection of grappe. Every bottle here is a grappa. Practically all they serve.
Grappa Bar 888 – I had an aged Poli Sarpa Riserva.
Not quite a caffè corretto – the Poli was too good to add to the espresso.
Samovar Tea Lounge – in the Yerba Buena Gardens.
Samovar Tea Lounge – on the left is the samovar that made my tea.
Samovar Tea Lounge – I had Tolstoy’s Tea. With extremely high levels of caffeine; made from Chinese black tea and bergamot. Smoky, sweet, and lightly fruity. Flying high.
Proper Manky near Market and New Montgomery St.
The Robert Glasper Experiment at the Palace of Fine Arts. Went there with my friend SA. Part of the 30th Annual San Francisco Jazz Festival. He answered audience questions for an hour before the show.
The A Residence in Santa Rosa. Beautiful Blue Atlas Cedar in front.
Wellington Vineyards – first stop on day tour through Sonoma and Napa counties with the A family. Really enjoyed their Noir de Noirs – thick, viscous and full of jammy, sweet tasting fruit. The kind of wine you drink with a fork.

Approaching Domaine Carneros Winery
Domaine Carneros Winery – makers of one of my favorite Pinot Noirs and Champagne. Founded 25 years ago by Champagne Taittinger. The chateau is a 18th century building architecturally inspired by the Taittinger Château de la Marquetterie in Champagne.
Robert Sinskey Vineyards – my favorite wine. A dry Pinot Blanc that only comes in half bottles and that packs a punch. Sinskey compares Chardonnay to Metallica and this Pinot Blanc to Wilco. Enough said.
